> FairwayVip is a privacy-first golf handicap calculator and score tracker. It applies official World Handicap System (WHS) / USGA formulas — Handicap Index from your best 8 of the last 20 score differentials, course handicap, 9-hole equivalents and daily revisions — free to use, with no ads and no third-party tracking.

## Key facts
- Score differential = (Adjusted Gross Score − Course Rating) × 113 ÷ Slope Rating
- Course Handicap = Handicap Index × (Slope Rating ÷ 113) + (Course Rating − Par), rounded to the nearest whole number
- Your Handicap Index uses the best 8 of your last 20 score differentials (World Handicap System, 2024 update)
- Your index is revised daily — a new score can move it the next morning
- You can obtain a first Handicap Index after 5 qualifying 18-hole scores (9-hole rounds are paired into 18-hole equivalents)
- Maximum Handicap Index is 54.0 for both men and women
- Net Double Bogey is the maximum hole score counted for handicap purposes
